Wren

Frequently Asked Questions

Nice logo – who designed it?

Thanks, we did! The Wren logo was inspired by a lettering sample found in a manuscript dating back to the 1600′s in one of London’s historic houses. Our logo was put into use when we established the company in early 2010.

Do Wren Bicycles fold?

No, they don’t. One inspiration for our first design was the discovery that many cyclists are purchasing folding bicycles, but rarely folding them down. It seems people often choose a folding cycle purely to avoid the bulk and burden of a larger-wheeled bicycle. Unfortunately, a great many folding bicycles compromise on ride quality and design aesthetics to achieve their functionality – Wren Bicycles offer a great alternative to this.

There are certainly times when a folding bicycle can be a clear advantage, and there are several manufacturers providing very well designed products that also look good too. If you specifically require a folding bicycle, we would recommend investing in a brand whose main product focus is folding bicycles.

What colours are Wren Bicycles available in?

At present our launch model is available in two colour options: Oxford Blue and Ivory.

Do Wren Bicycles ship outside of the UK?

Yes, we can ship to addresses outside of the UK. Please contact us for shipping rates before placing an order. Please note that international sales may be subject to import tariffs and taxes for which the buyer will be responsible.

Where are Wren Bicycles designed?

Wren Bicycles are designed in London, UK. We have carefully designed or selected all parts of our bicycles to meet our specific requirements. Unlike many brands who import complete ‘off-the-shelf’ bicycles and simply add their logo or badge to it before selling on to the customer, Wren Bicycles offer unique designs that won’t be found elsewhere.

Where are Wren Bicycles made?

Wren Bicycles are designed and developed in the UK, and exclusively hand-made to our specific requirements in Taiwan. Our bicycles are made using traditional techniques with high quality materials, by a frame building team with many years of industry experience. At present, the majority of premium bicycles designs available in the UK are made in Taiwan, with only a very small selection of manufacturers or bespoke builders creating their frames in the UK.

Are Wren Bicycles safety tested to meet UK standards?

Yes. Our bicycle designs have undergone extensive safety testing to meet the latest European guidelines – the most stringent yet, which were adopted as a British Safety Standard in 2009.

Where can I see a Wren Bicycle?

Wren Bicycles are sold online via our website, and are also stocked by a select number of retailers. Please check our website regularly, sign up to our mailing list or get in touch for more details. We are confident you will enjoy riding a Wren Bicycle and trust you will not be disappointed, but by law, UK online purchases are protected by Distance Selling Regulations, which stipulate a seven day period during which customers can notify us if they intend to return their bicycle, unused, and in its original condition.

Can I use a child seat on my Wren Original?

Yes, the Bobike Mini system can be fitted between the rider and the handlebars, allowing you to maintain contact with your child while you cycle, while avoiding the pedalling clearance dilemma created by traditional rear fitted child seats. Yepp and Wee Ride also make a range of front fitting child seats.

How are Wren Bicycles shipped?

Wren Bicycles are delivered boxed and 95% assembled. This is common practise for bicycle delivery, allowing the bicycle greater protection during transit. As a guide, we suggest allowing approximately 20 mins for assembly and adjustment. Each bike comes with full and specific instructions to assist you with this. Some basic tools will be required. For assurance, we recommend customers have their bicycles assembled by their local bike shop, especially if you have any concerns regarding your competence to fully assemble the bike.

We allow for collection of bicycles from our London premises, providing your order has been fully processed beforehand. Please note, visiting and collection is strictly by appointment only.
